The Maryland Instructional Program is responsible for training referees within the state. These responsibilities include training new Grassroots Referees, annual In-Service and Recertification, Regional Referee Clinics and Referee fitness testing. In addition, the State Instructional Program works in support of US Soccer in training referees who work professional matches. The Instructional Program also oversees the instruction of all other programs within the state and works closely with Maryland’s Assessment Program in an effort to help referees develop and advance their skills to the highest level.
